i was raised in a city created for tourists and rampant consumption where i learned how to write in between the margins where i learned to enjoy the symptom of liminality where i learned to enjoy flashy devotion, whenever im using a computer i feel so much freedom, i could do whatever i want, write wherever i want, create things out of thin air, alienated, we learn to love the tonality of the life we lived when we grew up, that’s why i love airports and empty malls and anything quiet and devoid of movement, i have learned to love freedom more than anything else and that is just the way it is but don’t worry, i can be cured

An experimental literary workshop exploring the theoretical and creative possibilities of cyberspace.
We explored concepts such as crypto poetry, poetic terrorism, dream hacking (through lucid dreaming) and dived in abandonware and early virtual communities to find possibilities of recreation and reenactment.
Facilitated in collaboration with Mvseo Privado.
Explore the website before a literary machine infected it and after.

CyberSelfie is a way of capturing the sensation of the selfie, of the attempt to represent yourself in the virtual ecosystem (and that therefore exists under its conditions). On this ecosystem, the body is assumed to be already disassembled. Taking Sean Cubitt's concept of the cyber natural - as that which transcends the organic - I look for ways to imagine my body in the coordinates of an infinite space as if I had traveled in computer time and the results that this trajectory would yield: a rotating torso, a flat brain, desire in the form of a sphere.
Mixed digital technique for Instagram. On display at Mvseo Privado.

Recreation of digital and analog poems (from left to right):

EECCHHOOEESS by N.H. Pritchard (1976)
-
Recreation of extract from First Screening by bpNichols (1984)
- Glitch text experiment inspired by Rosa Menkman
Created with p5.js during Recreating the past at the School for Poetic Computation.

A speculative and literary workshop where our aim is to challenge our collective relationship to technology through tools such as speculative design and virtual history. First we travel to the past, eliminating one of the two central technological machines in our history - Jacquard’s loom or Gutenberg’s press. Then we travel into the future and imagine a world shaped by a different course of history, undetermined by one of these two machines.
Participants are expected to produce prototypes, historical timelines, an artifact and a literary object by the end of the workshop.
The first workshop was facilitated in collaboration with Israel Viadest on November 2021 in Centro de Cultura Digital, Ciudad de México.
